Ammo

Hi Peter,
Attached, find a picture of my boy, Ammo. He's a 10 month old GSP, white with liver spots and ticking. I adopted him from OnPoint Rescue in St Louis, MO. Ammo and I live in Mantua, NJ; South Jersey farm country. He's not old enough to drink but I'll vouch for Old Brown Dog Ale. A friend of mine that was visiting from NH brought two sixes of it over about a year ago and I've been drinking it ever since.

Keep making those great tasting beers !

the best,
Jerry

Lois

Hi Peter
My name is Lois and here is a picture of me and my dad playing a rousing game of underwear tug of war.  My mom and dad, my brother Jake (who is also an Old Black Dog) and I are big fans of OBD Ale.  Unfortunately, we just moved from the East Coast to Chicago.  Now we can't get Smuttynose or go to the beach anymore and it sucks.  (Mom took us to some stupid Lake Michigan, but come on - it's not even close to being an ocean).   Anyway, just wanted to say thanks for the great beer, it's one of the reasons we can't wait to go back home on vacation!

Thanks again,

Parker

This is our old brown dog, Parker. He recently retired to Tucson, Arizona, where much to his dismay, he can't find any Old Brown Dog Ale! His sister in D.C. tells him that he looks just like the dog on the label---maybe just a little darker and grayer. Parker is enjoying the sun and wildlife in Tucson in his retirement, and he is keeping busy babysitting his little brother Bear, who is a golden retriever.

Nothing like a Black and White of my black lab.  Oscar is such a fan of the Smuttynose IPA that he ate a hop pellet when I was brewing my own IPA and enjoying a Smutty.  9 months old and already a true fan of the Smuttynose and the labrador tail.

Hi Peter,

Syd is our old brown dog.  At 13, she's getting to be more white than brown, but she's still a big fan of Smuttynose and the NH seacoast.  Fortunately, Big Dave from Hunterdon keeps us well-stocked with Old Brown Dog.  YUM!

Thanks!

Fergus

We don't have an old brown dog but we do have an old gray cat (10 yrs. old) named Fergus (photo attached). Have you thought about producing a beer called Old Gray Cat? If you did we would keep it in the house all the time. Until then the IPA is our favorite.

This is Maya. She's a Plott Hound mix that was found roaming the woods of

our best guess is that she's around 8 years old. Still, a fresh snowfall
always seems to bring out the puppy in her!

Dear Smuttynose,

Bailey

I came across your brown dog ale while doing some beer shopping and was blown away by the resemblance to my own brown dog. Bailey was rescued from death row by the "homebound hounds" program. We've been told he was a chocolate lab, spaniel, shepherd, pointer, etc, etc... who knows?!? He's 10 months old and as he grows, he looks more and more like a German short haired pointer. He has even begun pointing at our cats! We love your beer and your brown dog!

Take care, Laurence Van Atten

Deacon & Freckles

Dear Peter,
I found your website through the 365 bottles of beer for the year calendar. Upon further review I have had the Old Brown Dog at the Great American Brew fest. Several years back and my wife and I remember liking it alot. We live in Georgia and have trouble getting good beer here. I wanted to send some pics of our beer drinking brown dogs. Freckles is the ticked GSP and Deacon is the all liver dog like on your label. As you can see they really like beer. I hope you will post these pics on your website.
Thank you for your time and Cheers.

Kiche

Hi Peter,

My name is Danielle Gray and I live in Tasmania - Tasmania is the heart shaped island at the southern end of the Australian mainland.

I have attached pictures of our Brown Dog. Her real name is Kiche (taken from a charcater in Jack London's novel White Fang) but her nickname is 'Brown Dog' and she's an 18 month old chocolate German Short Haired Pointer with a speckled white star on her chest.

We're disappointed we can't sample your Old Brown Dog Ale down here in Tassie but I have ordered a Brown Dog t-shirt for my partner!

best wishes Danielle

Bailey

Here is my dog, Bailey.  He is a 2 1/2 year old chocolate lab.  Being very sick as a young pup, it took 4 months to nurse him back to health, and was it ever worth it.  The most loveable and intellegent dog that I have ever come in contact with, everyday is a pleasure with him.  And he is as much of a Red Sox fan as I am.  Congratulations to the 2004 Boston Red Sox!!!! Thanks.

Eli

Hi peter, my name is Eli. I am an eight month old lab and........something, from New Haven Connecticut. I love Smuttynose Pale Ale. And socks. Mostly socks though. I also like chewing things and sniffing things and running around and squirrels. ummmmmm squirrels. I'm looking for a single female dog who likes what I like, who is frequently in heat, and of course enjoys a cool Smuttynose ale over quiet barking and intimate chewing.
Peace,
Eli

Bishop

This is my dog Bishop. He is a German Shorthaired Pointer just like Olive. He is six and a half years old, which makes him a "Kinda ol' Brown Dog". His turn-ons include: being outside, eating (which is pretty obvious), and riding in the car. His turn-offs: getting a bath, squirrels, and ringing doorbells.

Bridget

Hi there,
This is Bridget. She's a Flat Coated Retriever and a commited Hop Head. In this photo she'e helping to clean out my wort recirculation pump of sweet liquor as she is my faithful brewing partner. The batch was a robust porter with a fair amount of chocolate malt. One of her favorite beers is Smuttynose IPA, when she can get it away from me!

CJ

"Peter, will you please tell mom that beer really isn't bad for dogs?" This is CJ, my beautiful 5 yr old Golden Retriever. This is the face I get when I take away his Smutty Nose, or...do anything that hurts his feelings. With a face like that you know he gets away with anything! CJ loves to chase the "big" dogs on his Dad's 52 inch, wide screen TV. He keeps hoping that one day they will actually come off the screen and have an Old Brown Dog Ale with him.

Thank you for letting us share,

Hello, Peter ...

Hi Peter,
I came across your web site in a tour book on NH, my husband and I have been spending a lot of our time heading up to NH as they are such a dog friendly state, My husband loves beer and he loves trying new beers and when I saw a beer named old brown dog, well I just had to check it out. Here is a picture of our old brown dog, his name is Gunner and he just turned 3 years old. I hope he makes it into the pinups!

Callaway

Hey Peter! My name is Callaway and I am CUTE. I am the youngest member of the Daniels family in this pic, I'm only 11-weeks and I've had a rough day of it. I mean, honestly, they take me places and make me play with other dogs all day playing ball, playing Frisbee, going through my daily training regimen, plus trying to keep up with my very active big sister Killian (she is a true OBD pinup too, see 9/12/03, she's got LOTS of white fur) I don't know how they expect me to make it through the day with all this activity. I'm now 13-weeks old and I scamper around like a crazy lady, so it's tough for mom and dad to get good pics of me. So I know I'm not old yet, but I will be someday. All this play they force on me makes a girl thirsty, thank goodness for water and Old Brown Dog ale.

Peter,
We are fans of Smutty Nose- Here is Abby our 7 year old GSP. Our very own old brown dog. Abby would like to know how Olive stays so young looking. Abby enjoys hunting, hiking, swimming, fishing, sleeping just about anywhere and visiting her Grand-Dog Parents who live in Pittsburgh New Hampshire. We hope she'll make the pin up. We also got her a new buddy recently, Annie a six month old GSP is keeping Abby very busy. Some photos of the both of them to follow soon. Keep up the good work guys!!
