May, 2004 - One spring morning in 2004, our phones started ringing off the hook. Haven't you heard? A panel convened by the New York Times has chosen your Big A IPA as their favorite IPA. As a matter of fact, we hadn't heard, but we soon knew all about it, and so did the rest of the country, judging from the calls we were getting. (New York Times) It was also nice to see that our stupid idea of brewing big, flavorful beers, which we began in 1998, may not have been so stupid after all.
May, 2004 - The New York Times selection of our Big A IPA (part of the Big Beer Series), happed to coincide with the release of our full-time "Finestkind" IPA, which certainly helped it get a fast start out of the gate. That year, our sales grew by twenty-three percent. |
